PAIA Manual
Last updated: June 2026
This is the manual of Lithium River under section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (PAIA). It explains what records we hold and how you can request access to them.
About PAIA
PAIA gives effect to the constitutional right of access to information. It allows you to request access to records held by a private body, such as Lithium River, where the record is required to exercise or protect a right. We will consider every request in accordance with the Act.

Records we hold
The records we hold include enquiry correspondence submitted through this website (handled as described in our Privacy Policy), together with the usual business, financial and operational records of a small consultancy. Some records are subject to mandatory protection or grounds for refusal under PAIA.
How to request access
To request access to a record, please contact our Information Officer at info@lithiumriver.co.za, setting out:
- enough detail to identify the record you are seeking;
- the right you are seeking to exercise or protect, and why the record is required;
- how you would like to receive the record; and
- your contact details for our response.
We will respond within the time periods set out in PAIA. Prescribed fees may apply, and we will let you know if any are payable before we proceed. The prescribed request form and the latest fee schedule are published by the Information Regulator.
The Information Regulator
The Information Regulator (South Africa) oversees both PAIA and POPIA, and publishes the official PAIA guide, request forms and fee schedule. You may also approach the Regulator if you are dissatisfied with our handling of a request:
